Rosemount vs. Prior Lake

7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 27

There’s no stopping the Payton Bloedow show. At least there wasn’t for Rosemount on May 4, when the Irish lost 13-9 to Prior Lake, which was propelled to the win by an eight-goal performance from Bloedow. The senior has 46 goals this season to rank among the state’s scoring leaders. Sixteen of those tallies came in back-to-back eight-goal games against Rosemount and Farmington.

Prior Lake, ranked No. 2 in the coaches' poll from May 17, is riding an 11-game winning streak. The defending state champion Lakers (11-1, 8-0) haven’t lost since their April 17 season opener — a 10-8 defeat to No. 1 Edina.

Rosemount (8-3, 6-2) has suffered its three losses against the state’s top three teams — a 14-11 blemish to No. 3 Lakeville South on April 23, the loss to Prior Lake and a 14-10 stumble to Edina on May 8.

Seven players have reached double digits in goals for the No. 4 Irish, including four with 20 or more. Junior Sayla Lotysz is the team leader with 30 goals.
