Prior Lake vs. Stillwater

7 p.m., Wednesday, May 26

Prior Lake lost just two games in 2018 before winning the state championship. In 2019, the Lakers won their second straight title following a three-loss season. The 2020 season was canceled due of the pandemic, but this spring the Lakers — based on their 9-3 record — appear to be on pace for another extended postseason run and, possibly, the first three-peat in state history for boys' lacrosse.

Junior Justin Simonson leads a Prior Lake (9-3, 9-0) lineup that is almost completely overhauled from 2019 with 28 goals. Senior Jack Smith (14 goals) is one of the few notable holdovers from two seasons ago for the Lakers, who are ranked No. 5 in the coaches' poll from May 18.

Stillwater (10-1, 9-0) looks ready for an extended postseason run, too. The No. 9 Ponies are riding a seven-game winning streak. The team features a balanced offense, boasting six players with double-digit goal totals, led by Tommy Lindeberg and Aidan Anderson, who each have 17 goals.
