Lakeville North still does not know how its lineup will look on a daily basis three games into the spring lacrosse season.

That’s what happens when a program graduates 14 players from the previous year’s team. While some of those decisions might be a mystery now, some signs point to more stability in the near future.

After every game, the Panthers give away a hammer and a ball as awards to key players who stepped up to help the team. On Tuesday, the two players who scored four goals apiece — one sophomore and one senior — earned that recognition in a 14-11 come-from-behind South Suburban Conference victory at Rosemount.

Collin Schulz, the senior, was on the varsity team last season as Lakeville North qualified for the state tournament. But sophomore Tyler Winship is one of those Panthers getting his first taste of varsity action.

The duo combined for seven second-half goals, allowing Lakeville North to erase a 6-3 halftime deficit to pick up the road win.

First Report

Lakeville North's halftime adjustments paid off in a come-from-behind 14-11 South Suburban Conference victory at rival Rosemount on Tuesday night.

Rosemount, ranked No. 4 in the state by the coaches’ association, seemed on its way to a win as the Irish (2-2, 0-1) cruised to a 6-3 halftime lead.

But Lakeville North (2-1, 1-0) found another gear on offense in the second half, mounting its comeback by scoring 11 of the game's final 16 goals, with six coming in the final quarter.

Sophomore attackman Tyler Winship led the prowl for the No. 10 Panthers, scoring four second-half goals. Teammate Collin Schulz, a senior attackman, also scored four goals — three in the second half — and added an assist.

Senior attackman Bennett Magnuson led the Irish with three goals and an assist.
