St. Thomas Academy earned its first win of the season and did it in an unfamiliar way Tuesday at Two Rivers.
The Cadets started their season with a pair of 9-8 losses to Woodbury and Blake, including one in overtime.
But on Tuesday, the St. Thomas Academy (1-2, 1-0) offense exploded for 22 goals in a win at Two Rivers (0-3, 0-1).
For a team looking to the early portion of the season for experience, a mix of challenging games on the schedule might help in the long run.

Coming off a pair of one-score losses, the Cadets (1-2, 1-0) jumped out to a quick start, scoring five goals in the first quarter. Matt Hudson and Adam Husaby each scored seven goals to lead the St. Thomas Academy offense. Ben Meisterling and Carter Stahl also had two-score days.
Thomas Lutz scored the lone goal for Two Rivers (0-3, 0-1), and goaltender Peter Foley made 11 saves.
