Top performer winner

Tore Papenfuss, Rochester Mayo. Papenfuss came through big for the Spartans on May 4 against Owatonna. He finished the game with 12 ground balls.

Top performer candidates

Connor Kvaal, Irondale. Kvaal has been a scoring machine for the Knights this season, and two games this past week put it on full display. On May 3, he poured in eight goals and four assists against East Ridge. He fellowed it up with a two goal, five assist performance against Mounds View on May 5.

Justin Simonson, Prior Lake. Simonson has long been a key for much of the Lakers' success in recent years. He came through again on May 2 against Rosemount as Simonson dished out five assists and leads the team with 15 this season.

Dylan Kendrick, Chanhassen. The Storm are having a season for the memory books and Kendrick has certainly been a big part of it. On May 3, Kendrick tallied 11 ground balls and was a perfect 8-for-8 on faceoffs against Orono. He followed that up with a goal, two assists, 18 ground balls and 22-of-25 in faceoffs against Prior Lake on May 4.

Caden Donahue, Mahtomedi. The Zephyrs have had success this season, and Donahue's play in net has played a part in it. On May 6, he stopped 11-of-15 shots as Mahtomedi won 9-4.
