Lakeville North boys top Minnetonka

The Panthers used consistent scoring to beat the second half surge from the Skippers.

A dynamic Lakeville North offense held off a late charging Minnetonka rally in a 13-10 home win in the first game of the year for the Panthers.

And the win featured a box score filled with the last name Piscitiello.

Sophomore Blake Piscitiello led the Panthers with four goals and one assist in the Tuesday win. His twin brother, Carson Piscitiello, tallied two goals and added three assists. And older brother, senior Leo Piscitiello, also scored once and was credited with three assists.

Lakeville North generated enough offense to hold off a late charging Minnetonka in a 13-10 opening night win for the Panthers Tuesday.

Trailing all game long, Minnetonka (1-1) cut the deficit to 10-9 with a goal by Ben Schuster and seven-and-a-half minutes left in the game. However, the Lakeville North (1-0) offense picked it up from there, scoring three more goals in the final seven minutes to finish off the win.

Blake Piscitiello led the Panthers’ offense, scoring four goals and assisting on another. Other multi-goal scorers from Lakeville North included Quinn Power (3), Carson Piscitiello (2), and Austin Winship (2).

Ben Schuster scored five goals to lead the Skippers, with Will Blanks also adding three.
