Another boys lacrosse season has ended, which means it is time for end-of-season awards for some of the state's best players.
Two teams this year — Chanhassen and Benilde-St. Margaret's — led the way with three players each earning All-American honors. But Lakeville North, the 2023 state champions were not far behind with two, as well as three players on all-state teams.
One of those players was junior faceoff specialist Quinn Power, who earned plenty of votes from Minnesota coaches to become the Star Tribune's Boys' Lacrosse Metro Player of the Year for 2023. Power led the state in faceoffs won with 333, paired with an impressive 78.5 faceoff percentage on the season.
The junior helped lead the Panthers alongside sophomore Blake Piscitiello, who was electric offensively all season. The attacker put up 98 points (67 goals, 31 assists) on the year, good for second in the state behind fellow all-state second team member Joey Stolpestad of TriMAC (99) who ended the season first in the state in goals with 70.
Chanhassen had an impressive seven players named to all-state teams this season, the most out of any school in the state. Attacker Carter Van Holland, sixth in the state in points (82), and goalie Grant Penttinen (first team) also earned All-American honors, while attacker Daxton Bush, defender Hank Pinamonti and long-stick midfielder Cade Reding (second team) followed closely behind in the rankings.
