Apple Valley (1-0) is relying heavily on its young talent after graduating several key seniors, including do-it-all superstar Katie Larson and third-leading scorer Blayr Thompson.

Apple Valley's collection of young talent -- more than half of the players on the Eagle's roster are underclassmen -- made a collective statement in the sesaon opener, routing Rochester Mayo 23-6. Junior forward Katie Moynihan scored five goals and added an assist in the win, and freshman phenom Reagan Roelofs finished with three goals with two assists to pick up where she left off last season when the forward had 56 goals and 35 assists.

Prior Lake enters the South Suburban Conference matchup and our Top Game of the Wee with a more experienced roster led by junior forward Ashley Norberg, who has four goals and six assists this season. The Lakers (2-0) will need their defense to stand tall and keep Apple Valley's offense in check.
