In Sara Woodring’s three years as a member of the Eden Prairie girls’ varsity lacrosse team, the Eagles have a 50-6 record and made three trips to the state tournament.

The Eagles, ranked No. 2 by the Minnesota Girls' Lacrosse Coaches Association, are off to a 4-0 start this season and look primed for another run deep into the postseason with Woodring at the helm.

The junior forward has 16 goals and 11 assists for a team-high 27 points and leads an offense that has outscored opponents 72-26.

No. 10-ranked Edina clawed its way to a 3-2 record, riding the offensive prowess of junior forward Catherine MacLennan, who had 14 goals and seven assists through the first four games.

If ending the Eagles' winning streak and notching a marquee victory doesn't provide enough motivation for the Hornets in our Top Game of the Week, there's the fact that Edina has never defeated Eden Prairie. The Hornets are is 0-12 versus the Eagles.
