Prior Lake (11-0, 8-0) is ranked No. 1 by the Minnesota State High School Boys' Lacrosse Coaches Association after rolling through its schedule without a loss, but No. 8 Lakeville South could spoil the Lakers' dreams of an undefeated season when they meet in the regular-season finale.

The Cougars (9-3, 5-3) lost their last two games and could use a victory over their South Suburban Conference rival to enter the postseason with plenty of confidence.

Prior Lake and Lakeville South each have a defensive ace in the midfield who could help disrupt the attacks of two of the three highest-scoring offenses in the league. The Lakers average 17.8 goals per game (best in the conference) and the Cougars are at 15.9 goals per game (third-best).

Leading Prior Lake's defensive charge is junior Jack Dessler, who has a league-high 101 ground balls. His Lakeville South counterpart is junior Nick Petersen, who is second in the the conference with 95 ground balls.

In a matchup that seems to be all about offense, maintaining a staunch defensive presence and coming up with one or two key stops could be the vital to a victory in our final Top Game of the Week this season.
