As usual, defending state champion Minnetonka relied on its defense as the Skippers beat Chaska/Chanhassen 6-4 on Thursday, May 27, in the quarterfinals of the Section 6 playoffs.
Minnetonka (11-3) got three goals from senior Jake Rossman as it advanced to a section semifinal matchup with Maple Grove.
The Skippers, ranked No. 8 in the state, have scored more than eight goals just twin in their last 10 games.
