Each team dominated in stretches. Blake scored five consecutive goals — three in less than minute — to take a 7-3 lead, but Eden Prairie rallied to tie the score 7-7 at halftime.

Eden Prairie appeared to take control midway through the second half when Sammie Morton’s fifth goal of the game gave the Eagles a 14-10 lead, but Blake responded and tied the score 14-14 with just under eight minutes left. The Eagles took the lead for good on a goal by Brooke Lewis at 19:42 of the second half and Kelly Wolfe added an insurance goal.

The Eagles (12-1) have not lost a game to a Minnesota team since falling to Blake in the 2014 state championship game. Eden Prairie’s one loss last season and lone loss this season have come to Loyola Academy (Ill.).

Mr. Baseball, Ms. Softball

The Minnesota Minute Men organization announced the seven finalists for the Mr. Baseball and Ms. Softball awards, which go the top senior in each sport. West metro finalists are Isaac Collins of Maple Grove (baseball), and Katelyn Kemmetmueller (Rogers) and Lauren Oberle (Eden Prairie) for the softball award. Winners will be announced June 26 at a banquet at Target Field.
