Despite losing its first game of the season, Eden Prairie (11-1-0, 8-0) remained at the top of the coaches' rankings. This was because the Eagles lost to Loyola Academy, a team from Illinois, leaving them with a perfect record against in-state competition.

The loss gave Blake (9-1-0), the No. 2 team for most of the season, a great chance to jump ahead of the Eagles. However, the chance was squandered when the Bears lost to Prior Lake 15-7 on Monday, their first loss of the season. The win propelled the Lakers (12-1-0) to No. 2, and it dropped the Bears to No. 4.

Apple Valley also took advantage of the losses to move up to No. 3. The Eagles haven’t been involved in many close contests while winning their last six by a combined score of 106-35.

The only other movement in the rankings this week was a swap between Stillwater (9-2-0) and Minnetonka (8-5-0). The Skippers were blown out by Eden Prairie 19-1 last Thursday but stlll moved into the No. 7 spot, while the Ponies dropped to No. 8 despite winning their last nine games.
