In her way are six other deserving candidates, including her own teammate, Sammie Morton. The Eagles are the first-seed in the state tournament, and they also have a two-in-seven shot at this year's Ms. Lacrosse winner.

Margot Coomes

School: Osseo/Park Center | Position: Midfield

Coomes was a dominant midfield-scorer this season, finishing the regular season with a team-high 50 goals. She also led her team with 10 assists. She didn’t just score in the regular season either. In the three games OPC played in the section playoffs, Coomes scored 14 goals, helping lead OPC to the section 8 championship game.

Olivia Konigson

School: Stillwater | Position: Midfield

Stillwater was one of the best teams in the state this season, and they had a few consistent offensive threats. Three different players scored at least 55 points this season, and leading them was Konigson with 62. Konigson had two successful games in the section playoffs, scoring six goals and assisting on four others, before suffering a season-ending injury in the semifinal against Mounds View.

Ellie Lauderdale

School: Lakeville South | Position: Forward

Lauderdale improved vastly from her junior year campaign, increasing her point total from 21 last season to 86 this season. Her 86 points were the fifth-most in the state, as were her 64 goals.

Sammie Morton

School: Eden Prairie | Position: Forward

Scoring 70 points is typically good enough to lead a team, but the Ponies have Naomi Rogge, who had 90 points this season. Morton and Rogge each had great seasons, leading Eden Prairie to the number-one overall seed in the state tournament. Morton has consistently scored this season, racking up 50 goals in the regular season and 12 goals in the section playoffs.

Sarah Pierson

School: Prior Lake | Position: Midfield

Pierson was a force for the Lakers this season, leading them in goals (40) and points (49) this season. She was also consistent in the faceoff circle, winning 67.5 percent of the 200 faceoffs she took during the regular season. In the three games in the section playoffs, she scored eight points and won 66 percent of her faceoffs.

Lex Seifert

School: Hutchinson | Position: Midfield

Seifert has scored in bunches for years now, and this season was no exception. She had 89 points, third-most in the state, and scored 66 goals, fourth-most in the state. Over the past three seasons, Seifert has put together quite the career. She has scored 212 total points and scored 170 total goals for the Tigers.

Naomi Rogge

School: Eden Prairie | Position: Midfield

After scoring 55 points in a breakout season in 2016, Rogge followed that up with one of the best individual seasons in the state. She had 90 points this year, which was the second-most in the state. The 69 goals she scored was tied for the second-most in the state as well. Her success didn’t stop in the regular season, as she scored 22 points in the Eagles’ three games in the section playoffs. Rogge has already won the Player of the Year award, voted on by the girls’ lacrosse coaching association. Now she will look to add a Ms. Lacrosse award to her collection.
