Eden Prairie wins battle for first place

EDEN PRAIRIE 11, MINNETONKA 9: First place in the Lake conference was on the line Thursday, when the two remaining unbeatens clashed at Eden Prairie's Aerie stadium. Though the Skippers held the Eagles to their lowest tally of the season, Eden Prairie (6-0) got just enough offense from its talented midfielders to hand Minnetonka (4-1) its first loss. Midfielders Christine Easton (three goals and one assist) and Annie Thul (three goals) led the charge for Eden Prairie, the state’s highest-scoring team (97 goals in six games). Sophomore attacker Abbey Brodeur had three goals for Minnetonka.
