Mr. Lacrosse finalists announced

Seven players on list to win second annual award given to state's top senior

Christian Rekow of No. 1-ranked Benilde-St. Margaret's and George Ordway of No. 2 Blake are among the seven finalists for the Mr. Lacrosse award given annually to the state's top senior.

The other five candidates are Ben Alberts of Woodbury, Mitch Hugdahl of Eden Prairie, Chase Fisher of Minnetonka, Carson Cannon of Stillwater and Steve Kiesel of Breck.

Kiesel scored 47 goals during the regular season, the most of any senior. Ordway led the state regular scoring race with 74 points. Alberts finished second with 72 points.

Grant Dressen of Blake and Nate Johnson of Maple Grove are the finalists for the Goaltender of the Year Award.

The Mr. Lacrosse Awards Banquet will be held at noon on Sunday, June 5 at the Grand Ballroom at River Centre in St. Paul.
