Blake's Ordway is Mr. Lacrosse

Senior attackman led Bears to 13-3 record, appearance in Section 6 finals

Blake’s George Ordway, the state’s regular season scoring leader, was named Mr. Lacrosse on Sunday, June 5.
 
The award is given annually to the state’s top senior.

Senior goaltender Grant Dressen was named Mr. Goalie, give the Bear a sweep of the postseason awards.

Blake, No. 2 in the Lax Hub’s final state rankings, went 11-2 during the regular season and lost to No. 1 Benilde-St. Margaret’s in overtime in the Section 6 championship game. The Bears went 13-3 overall.

Ordway scored 39 goals and added 35 assists for 74 points in 13 regular season games. Dressen went 9-2 during the regular season, when he posted a .646 save percentage.

Ordway is the second Mr. Lacrosse winner, following Benilde-St. Margaret’s Bailey Dodds, who won the award last season.

The other Mr. Lacrosse finalists were Ben Alberts of Woodbury, Carson Cannon of Stillwater, Chase Fisher of Minnetonka, Mitch Hugdahl of Eden Prairie, Steven Kiesel of Breck and Christian Rekow of Benilde-St. Margaret's.

Nate Johnson of Maple Grove was the other Mr. Goalie finalist.
