The Spartans took on Columbia Heights in front of a full house at home on Teacher Appreciation Night. After recognizing our wonderful teachers, the team got to work.

The Spartans went into halftime tied up at 6-6. They turned it on in the second half and ultimately, proved to be too much for the Highlanders. Thanks to SIX different goal scorers, the Spartans earned their second win of the season with a final score of 12-9.

Much of the team’s offensive success started with great defensive caused turnovers and saves. Stella Hunter kept the team alive in the first half, stopping 7 of the 13 shots she faced. Michu Tufaa relived Hunter in the second with her first-ever Varsity debut where she earned 5 saves of her own. 

Some offensive highlights included Eden Sitko’s first-ever hat trick. Another milestone went to Ivy Raya for her first-ever Varsity goal! Riley Erben, Ella Bond, Julia Colbert, and Charlotte Goings also got points on the board for the Spartans. 

We have a nice break before we are back in action on Tuesday against conference rival, Breck.
